I have a confession.
I have been known to buy those squeezy sachets of fruit and veg from the baby food aisle.
For myself.
I figure it's a healthy snack on the run, right?
Given my guilty pleasure, I was keen to try out the latest offering on the puree market.
Fast & Fruity is all natural, with absolutely no added sugar.
And just to show off, it's also gluten free, with no added preservatives, sulphites or sodium.
I was sent the Fast & Fruity range with some suggested uses and recipes - and I was all like wait...what... you're not meant to just neck the packet in 5 seconds flat?
While that is an acceptable use, they're also great condiment style - like mixed in with porridge or natural yoghurt, or even added to DIY icy poles, cakes and muffins.
So much better than their tinned counterparts, as they're 100% fruit - no sugary, sickly sweet syrup.
Hot tip : They're also excellent in cocktails. Mix vodka, ice, mineral water and a pouch of Fast & Fruity in the blender and hellooooo tropical cocktails quicker than you can say "has anyone seen the cocktail umbrellas and bendy straws?".
Fast & Fruity is available from Coles, mixing it with their inferior canned cousins. Which is a total plus for people like me who normally skulk around the baby food aisle for their fix of pureed fruity goodness.

Fast & Fruity / Freshfields are now on Facebook, so go check them out, just in case they decide to take me up on my suggested 'Adults Only' cocktail versions (with matching jelly shot sized portions too).
My sister often uses products like this while she's competing in regattas. They'll have up to six races in a day and it's hard to get enough calories in that will sit happily in your stomach while your racing and these really fit the bill. Not just for kids!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite combo would have to be kiwifruit, pineapple and apple.

Blueberry & Raspberry. Just add blue curacao vodka & lemonade and I'm sure it would taste like a fruit tingle! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite fruit combination is pink grapefruit and pomegranate (possibly with elderflower and a splash of vodka...). Exotic, colourful and, because of the grapefruit element, you can pretend it's a weight loss drink!
